Rocky Road

Trial Name:    Rocky Road

Location:         Raleigh/Cary, NC

Directions:     Take I-40 west until exit 287  (Morrison Ave).  Head south on Morrison, go approx 1/4 mile to the light just past the Sam’s club, turn right. Go about 1/4 mile to Old Reedy Creek Rd on the right. Reedy Creek turns to gravel immediately, you will go down a hill and then bottom out as the road starts to go back up hill you will see cars parked and a trailhead on the right. (The rocky road trailhead is 50 yards before the lake Crabtree trailhead. (Which is on the left) The trailhead is a feeder out to Rocky Road, once you get to the loop make a right and go counter clockwise.

Review:          Tough trail, very technical, steep short climbs. Definitely not for the beginner or those who don't like riding with steep drops to one side of the trail. If you get comfortably from the trailhead to the beginning of the loop, then you can look forward to 4 more miles of the same.

Rider Quote: “This is by far one of the most, if not the most difficult MTB trail in Raleigh. It's got it all, rock gardens; log stacks, difficult uphill & downhill sections covered in roots.
